Elyssa Samsel was born in New York City.  She began her classical training on the violin and piano at the age of six.  Currently she resides in New York City as an actress, singer, violinist, pianist, and composer for Musical Theatre.

Recent performing credits include Bachlorette #2 in NAB-A-DATE: A New Musical at the Mint Theatre (http://www.nabadate.com), Vital Theatre Company’s production of “Isabelle and the Pretty-Ugly Spell” (Princess) at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, “Twelfth Night” (composer/musical-director) at the Bernie West Theatre, New York Theatre Barn’s one-act presentation of “Confessions of a Reality TV Star” (Sheena), Theatre for a New City’s New Blood New Reading Series’ debut of Macaire (Ernestine) by Thomas G. Waites, and Bellevue Sketches (Randi) at The Players Theatre Off-Broadway.

She is currently a composer in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, working on projects inside and outside of the workshop.

Her latest Musical was co-written with Jade Bartlett, and is entitled LIGEIA (http://ligeiathemusical.com)
